Managing your Dashboard

The dashboard is your back office for running auctions on Basta — create and publish sales, manage inventory and bidders, configure your account, and generate API keys. This is a tour of the main areas and everyday workflows.

Signing in

Head to dashboard.basta.app and sign in with your email and password, or with your company's single sign-on. Once you're in, everything is scoped to an account; if you belong to more than one, use the account switcher to move between them.

New here? See Getting Started for creating your account and linking a business account. What you see in the dashboard depends on your plan and your role's permissions, so some areas below may not appear for every user.

The home dashboard

The home screen is a customizable overview of your account's performance. Widgets cover lot outcomes, reserve, revenue, buyers, bidders per lot, estimates, closing days, and your current, upcoming, and past auctions. You can show, hide, and reorder widgets and save the arrangement as your default view.

The floating AI Assistant in the bottom-right corner can answer questions about this data in plain language — see AI Assistant.

Creating and publishing a sale

Running an auction follows a simple path:

  1. In Auctions, click New auction and set the title, description, and sale window.
  2. Add lots — either by attaching existing items from Items or by creating them directly in the sale — and add images, estimates, reserves, and starting bids.
  3. While the sale is Unpublished, use Preview to check how it looks.
  4. When it's ready, Publish the sale. It moves from UNPUBLISHED to PUBLISHED and becomes visible to bidders; the rest of the lifecycle runs automatically.

Managing bidders and registrations

Under Auctions → Registrations you can review, approve, or decline bidders before a sale. Reusable registration policies (in Settings) let you apply the same vetting rules across sales. Your full bidder and buyer directory lives under Clients. See Registrations for the underlying model.

Live sale tools

For live, auctioneer-driven sales, the dashboard includes operator tools: a Clerk console for running the room, a Jumbotron display for the audience, and Paddle registration. See Sale Types.

Settings & utilities

Settings is grouped by area. The ones you'll use most:

  • People— Members & permissions, Roles & permissions, and Affiliates.
  • Finance— Bidder Premiums (buyer's premium and fees) and Artist's Resale Right.
  • Communications — Notifications for the emails and SMS your bidders receive.
  • Organisation — organisation details and departments.
  • Technical — API Keys, Webhooks, and streaming.

Generating an API key

To build against the Management API, go to Settings → API Keys and create a key. Pair it with your Account ID in the x-account-id and x-api-key request headers — see Authentication.
