AI Assistant
Ask questions about your auctions in plain language and get answers drawn from your own sales data — right inside the dashboard.
The AI Assistant is a chat panel built into the dashboard. Ask it something like “What days is it best to close an auction?” and it answers from your account's data — summarizing, comparing, and recommending, with the numbers to back it up.
Where to find it
Look for the floating ✨ button in the bottom-right corner. Click it to open the chat panel; there's an expand control to blow it up into a large centered window, and a trash icon to clear the conversation. It appears in two places:
- On the home dashboard — the account-wide AI Assistant, for questions across all your sales.
- On an open sale — the AI Sale Assistant, focused on that one sale's statistics, bidding patterns, and item details.
The AI Assistant is available on business (B2B) accounts. If you don't see the button, your account type or permissions may not include it — reach out at hi@basta.app.
What you can ask
It's tuned to the same analytics that power your dashboard, so it's strongest on questions about performance and patterns:
- Closing days — “What days is it best to close an auction?”
- Bidding engagement — “Which closing day gets the most bids per lot?”
- Revenue & outcomes — “How did last month's sales perform?”
- Reserve & estimates — “How often are lots meeting reserve?”
- Buyers & bidders — “How many bidders per lot on average?”
- On an open sale — “How is this sale doing?” for live statistics, bidding patterns, and item details.
Answers stream in as it thinks, are formatted for easy reading, and the conversation keeps context so you can ask follow-ups.
Your bidders' privacy is protected. No personal information — bidder names, emails, and the like — is available to the AI. It works from aggregate sales and performance data only.
Tips
- Be specific about the time frame or sale you mean — “this quarter” or a named sale — for sharper answers.
- Ask follow-ups instead of restating everything; it remembers the thread until you clear it.
- Use the sale-level assistant when you're deep in one auction — it already has that sale's context.
